I am a 2nd year medical student at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, hoping to receive my MD in 2011.

I graduated from NYU in 2006 with a BA in psychology. I then worked as the lab manager of the NYU Center for Child Language before entering med school, which helped encourage my interest in pediatrics, development, and research in general.

The title of my blog, “Second Brain,” comes from two things: the song by Kaki King, a wonderful acoustic guitarist & singer, and from something my mother always said to me growing up. I was born by emergency C-section (at a time when they didn’t do those very often!). My mom told me it was because my head was so big, because it held a “second brain” and that’s why I was a smart kid. Now that I’m in med school, I really do wish I had another brain…
